God is nowhere...
We are beginning our new series on Esther called “God Is Nowhere.”  Here’s a heads up for those of you who faithfully follow my blog.     Please read Esther 1 prior to this weekend.  I’m doing a dramatic presentation of chapter one, and having the context in your mind already will give you added insight into to this fascinating book.  I suggest you read it three times and then see if...

don't forget...
Hey!  This is a shout out to everyone:  Don’t forget that our Missions Weekend begins Friday Night.  You don’t want to miss the stories of life transformation and how you can personally make a difference in planting churches, rescuing girls caught up in the sex trade industry, and starting kids programs in Southeast Asia.  Will I see you there? God really spoke to my heart today. I was challenged by the thought that my life and my ministry need to be about Jesus. I know that sounds simple and obvious - until you stop and think about how much of self can get in the way!

Emotions...
How can we keep our feelings from running or ruining our lives?     I had an older preacher tell me once that our emotions are like a team of wild horses that wants to run in every direction.  He said the key to not letting those “horses” control your life is to make sure that the reins are in the right hands!   Whose hands are your emotions in?     Every day I pray and hand over...

Seasons...
I was sitting outside, as I’m sure many of you did the last few days, marveling at the beauty of God’s creation.  One day as I was looking, enjoying and thanking God for how His creation reflects His own indescribable beauty, a dark thought suddenly entered my mind, “It will all be gone soon!”  Stop!  I don’t want to think about barren trees, dead grass, bone chilling...

What are you going to do?
I’m at my favorite breakfast joint ordering the same boring (but healthy) breakfast that I order every time I’m in here!  I always have the same young lady waiting on me.  When she sees me (I’m usually the first customer at 6:15 a.m.), she doesn’t ask me what I want.  She just brings the usual  fruit and nine-grain toast.  We go through this routine two times a week as I...
