What happens...
What happens when you put together a Pentecostal pastor and a Baptist minister? Great things if both are willing to look past their differences and focus on the big picture of what God wants to do in saving a lost world.
For the first time these two men put aside their theological differences to focus on the great commission that Jesus gave His church. They each lead two of the largest churches...
It's a small world after all....
It really is a small world! I went to preach this morning and met my translator, who is the Awana director for Nepal! He knows the team that is going to help us facilitate Awana in Vietnam.
I also found out today that Christianity only recently came to Nepal - 60 years ago. We are praying that God will reveal to us who The Compass Church can partner with in spreading the gospel in Nepal.

Saturday is Sunday!
Here in Nepal Sunday is a working day like our Monday, so the only day of rest is Saturday. I will, therefore, be preaching Saturday morning to the working crowd and Sunday morning to a congregation of mostly full-time missionaries from different organizations.

Rats!!
I’m here in Nepal’s largest city, Kathmandu. The population of greater Kathmandu is approximately four million, with only about two percent Christian. The vast majority are Hindu. This evening on my way back to the hotel I passed a temple shrine infested with rats that are being worshiped.
How sad to see people sacrificing to rats when they could know the Living God! Please pray...
On my way...
If I ever get out of here, I’m going to Kathmandu…
Well, here I go on my way to Kathmandu, Nepal. In our quest to bring the good news here, near and far, we are attempting to plant 50 churches in the next five years.
I’m going to this mostly Hindu/Buddhist nation to meet and train 31 church planters and pastors. Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s leading and that God...
Headlines
Here are some headlines from Sunday’s newspapers and editorials. After reading through these various articles, I was reminded of Psalm 2 and comforted by God’s Word.
· Iran says will attack any country used to strike its soil
· ‘Iran can destroy Israel in 9 minutes’
· Israeli military appoints new air force chief
· Iran raid likely to...

6 points...
As promised, below are the last six points from my message last weekend.
1. God is in control of where history is going!
2. Believers will face persecution and hardship!
3. Believers must remain faithful and look beyond the immediate circumstances to the future with Christ.
4. One day the world is going to experience Christ’s righteous rule and reign.
5. What we see...
Busy in Brussels
Brussels is a city of 1.2 million people and less than half of a percent are believers. The work here is very difficult and the people so hard to reach, but God is doing something powerful among the mission partners and the national pastors and leaders.
I had the opportunity to share with two packed out groups of Christian leaders on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Far more came than were...
Yes, this is right!
I’m in Brussels this week ministering with our partner Olivier Jonkers. Tonight I spoke to around thirty leaders representing eleven churches. As I prepared to speak, I asked the Lord, “Is this where I belong or should I stay home?” During the message on prophecy and the church, I suddenly felt the Holy Spirit confirming in me, “Yes, this is right!”
Only a half of a...
It's been a while...
It’s been a while, but I am back to doing more blogging in conjunction with our series on Revelation.
I want to pass on the following link for you to access and read some very good thoughts by Joel Rosenberg on Ezekiel chapters 38-39. These are prophetic chapters and we may be seeing some fulfillment of them in the current situation in the Middle...

Vulnerable...
“Jesus was not a glow in the dark Christ-child. He was the very God incarnate, a real live ordinary crying, cooing, sleeping, eating, wetting, pooping baby! His great need was to be held in human arms, touched by human hands and soothed by human words of love and reassurance.”
I found these words in an article on the birth of Jesus and they awakened me to the stark reality of how...
Coming home...
We are finally on our way home. I’m sorry for not posting lately but I could not access the internet from our hotel in Jerusalem.
It has been a great trip with many wonderful spiritual encounters with God. Please pray for this region as there are many fears and concerns regarding Iran, Syria and what is taking place in Egypt. Israel is being surrounded by increasing hostility.
Jerusalem...
We have arrived in Jerusalem.
The journey to Israel has been great with a wonderful group from The Compass Church. Despite what you may hear in the news, things here are very calm and peaceful except in the troubled spots (which we stay away from).
Being here has reminded me that someday all of us will gather at Jerusalem to worship the Lord Jesus Christ when He returns to the Mount of Olives...
Dan...
This is the ancient gate into the city of Dan. Before Dan it was a Canaanite town and Abraham would have walked through it!
Caesarea Maritime
Ancient aqueducts built by King Herod to bring water to Caesarea Maritime where Peter led Cornelius to Christ.
Standing next to a copy of the only extra biblical reference to Pontius Pilate. For many years liberal scholars said he did not really exist. Archaeology proves them wrong. See Matthew 27.

Hi Friends. Here are some pictures from Israel. This taken from the Sea of Galilee looking west towards a setting sun.
Faith in His presence...
We just finished our boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.
I read the story of Jesus walking on the water in Matthew 14. The disciples were frightened by what they thought was a ghost. Jesus quieted their pounding hearts by urging them to have faith in His presence.
As we sat on the sea discussing the text, I was reminded of how the sea reflects our lives - sometimes it is smooth and other...
Giants...
We have arrived in Israel!
Our group of 44 is doing fine and excited to be in the land of our faith. Yesterday we stood overlooking the valley where David fought Goliath. As we relived the story of David defeating the giant, I was reminded that we all face giants in our lives. How did David defeat the giant? By Faith. Read the story in 1 Samuel 17. David keeps talking about his faith in...
Journey upward...
I did a funeral yesterday for an elderly woman who loved the Lord. The family wanted to release balloons at the graveside service, and asked me for a verse to share that would fit the balloon release.
I have to confess I have never had a request like that before. I racked my brain trying to think…. Then 2 Corinthians 5:8 came to mind:
8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be...
